At “The Artisans Ayutthaya”, we use pottery from “Aunt Yor”, a pottery craftsman who inherits the last ancient wisdom of Klong Sa Bua community, which has been making pottery since the beginning of  Ayutthaya period.

When we met Aunt Yor, she works as general labor, school chef and to preserve this wisdom, she is also making clay pots as a hobby, afterwards, the creator of "The Artisans Ayutthaya" has shared techniques and encouraged her in this long-term exploration until Aunt Yor has done with her first handcraft utensils for us. There are plates, bowls, cups, and glasses. Although, we’re not sure how long she has tried, today Aunt Yor and us are so close that it feels like we are in the same family.

We are grateful for the effort of Aunt Yor not to give up on making clay pots, one-and-only food containers for us.

The aim behind every detail of “The Artisans Ayutthaya” is to preserve local knowledge for future generations, because every story has hidden history from the past to the present, therefore we are not just an ordinary restaurant, but we are dedicated to preserving this precious charm and heritage to the community.
